Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can Lloyd Doyle machines optically test any type of pcb with reference to Cam data?

Answer:
Yes, all machines from Lloyd Doyle can use a CAM generated reference file for optical test. Furthermore, this file can be generated on any proprietary CAM station for any type of pcb image.

2. What type of throughput can I expect from a Lloyd Doyle system?

Answer:
Lloyd Doyle supply systems in a complete range from prototype application through to high volume production. For example, an entry level system can scan in the region of 90 sides of 18" x 24" circuit in an hour whereas one of the high volume systems can scan up to 215 sides of the same size in the same time.

3. What is AOT?

Answer:
AOT combines the advantages of optical inspection with the logic of electrical test.

4. What is a netlist?

Answer:
The netlist contains functional information about the connectivity of the circuit image of the layer being inspected in the form of "x" and "y" coordinates.

5. Does Lloyd Doyle have a CAM link?

Answer:
Yes, a CAM reference is obtained in the form of a "per layer" netlist extracted from any CAM station.

6. Does Lloyd Doyle offer after sales service?

Answer:
Yes, Lloyd Doyle provides flexible options to after sales support, they can provide full annual service contract options.

7. Why is AOT different than other inspection systems?

Answer:
AOT offers a connectivity based inspection using the same logic as electrical test, ensuring the integrity of the inspection.
